Okay…so we all know I’m not a runner. The only thing I run for is the ferry, and even those days are thankfully (and mostly) behind me. If you’ve been following me (and over on my abandoned project, QuarterLife) you know that I walk. Everywhere. And as much as I can. Usually events that involve “running” scare me – that is, until I heard about the CMY5K.
This 5K is not your typical 5K. You don’t just prod along in a pack at a pace that others might consider walking. (Why this has scared me before, I’m not sure.) Instead, runners wear all-white, and at each kilometer, CMY5K staff and volunteers will powder participants in Color Splash Zones. Each zone dispenses a different color; 1K-cyan, 2K-magenta, 3K-yellow, 4K-green. (C…M…Y….Get it now?)
The CMY5K is behind held all across the county, but is making a stop in Seattle on Sunday, August 12 2012 at Magnuson Park. The “race” starts at 9AM. And since I’m SO excited about this, I’m giving away a pair of tickets/entries to one lucky reader (and a friend!) of my blog for the Seattle race! All you have to do is enter below. (Winners will be selected July 30th.)
